Let's unpack this case!
Dandelion Vineyards Wishing Clock Sauvignon Blanc
Nestled somewhere between Thai food and margaritas, this Wishing Clock Sauvignon Blanc might have you wishing for 11 more glasses on the hour. Made by Elena Brooks in South Australia’s Adelaide Hills, the wine hits your nose like tropical lime leaves floating on a minty breeze. Preferably, you’ll have finished the bottle way before the shrimps hit the bar-b.
Woodlands Wines Chardonnay
Like a butler wearing a poncho, this chardonnay is laid back with pedigree! It’s from a single vineyard planted in 1973 just a few miles from the Indian Ocean. The cool green melon fruits match the energy of the local sandy beaches, and the French barrels used for aging lend enough depth to make it a match for anything from flakey pan seared fish to pork tacos.
Dandelion Vineyards Honeypot of the Barossa Roussanne
We have to speculate, but when Picasso painted Gertrude Stein, she was probably drinking a glass of Roussanne. The night Cleopatra seduced Julius Cesar…there must have been some Roussanne in the room. So when Elena Brooks found a vineyard of the infamous grape growing in the Barossa Valley of South Australia, she harvested early, and coaxed all the saline honeysuckle and guava goodness from the grapes that she could, and called it “Honeypot.”
Ochota Barrels The Green Room
The Green Room changes everything. Crafted by the diabolical genius, Taras Ochota, who accidentally encountered the ancient Grenache vineyard from which the wine is sourced while on his way to go surfing, this wine challenges everything we know about Australian wine, and Grenache, all at once. It’s like eating a cold plum in a field of wild thyme. Sublime!
Ricca Terra Bullets Before Cannonballs Red
If you want to be a good pirate, shoot bullets at your enemy's ship to calculate your cannonball's trajectory, before you put the fire in the hole. If you want to be a good gourmand, take a tangy swig of herbaceous ‘Bullets Before Cannonballs’ before you swallow another bite of those pork chops you just grilled. Free advice for swashbucklers and crunchy black fruited wine seekers alike...
Woodlands Wines Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot
This one is a music-stopping record scratcher! Oenophiles everywhere are suspending their disbelief as they swim through layers of blackcurrant, rose petals, and savory juniper, that this wine comes from the west coast of Australia and not from Bordeaux. Should we really be surprised when wine from a multi-generational producer and a single vineyard near the ocean tastes this great?!
