Domaine des Justices Bordeaux Blanc
Bordeaux blanc might be severely misunderstood. The region is most famous for red wines, but we’d like to remind you that it's the birthplace Sauvignon Blanc--and remains one of the best places for it! At Domaine des Justices they blend a little Semillon (as is customary) into their Sauvignon Blanc for terrific results. The wine is light on its feet, full of classic grassy and tropical aromatics and disappears like girl scout cookies.
Louis Metaireau ‘Black Label’ Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine
Muscadet is a place. It lies on the eastern coast of France where the Loire River runs into the Atlantic ocean where two very important things happen: oysters are harvested from the estuary, and grapes of Melon de Bourgogne are cultivated in the hills above. This synergy makes for a pairing to rival peanut butter and jelly. The Metaireau family goes back generations, producing brilliantly mineral and beautifully saline Muscadet for which there is no better use than to wash down a fresh oyster on the half shell.
Laporte Le Bouquet Sauvignon Blanc
Drinking Sauvignon Blanc from anywhere besides the Loire Valley of France (achem, where Laporte sources their grapes) is like listening to someone else's cover of “Hotline Bling”; best to just stick to Drake. It’s got citrus fruits and mineral zip that’s all too familiar, and always good. It’s no wonder this wine is still stuck in our heads after we leave the party (and by party we mean Zoom hang out).
Niepoort Docil Vinho Verde (only included with the 12-bottle case)
Vinho Verde is the new kale salad. We won’t debate the health benefits (it's really good for you) but now is your chance to jump on the bandwagon before everyone else obsesses over it. It’s a region on the north coast of Portugal, it can be made of many grape varieties, but this one is 100% Lourerio and 100% delicious in a refreshing, thirst-quenching, sort of way.
