For something refreshing during the warmer months, drink wines made from grapes like Gamay and Grenache, or even Malbec from its original roots in Southwest France. Try these with grilled meats, hearty stews, and even grilled fish, barbecue, smoked meats, roasts, and grilled vegetables. Pro tip: pop a bottle in the fridge and drink with a nice chill.

Domaine de la Charmoise Touraine Gamay
Being cool isn’t about the clothes you wear or the people you hang out with. It's about the wine you drink! And drinking Loire Valley gamay is bonafide, used-to-live-in-Brooklyn level cool. These Jean-Sébastien Marionnet gamay vineyards are deep in the forest of Touraine, and have been farmed organically since the 1960’s. The wine is so fresh that Will Smith’s got nothing on it. It’s the perfect counterbalance to drinking wine on the couch, in our sweatpants.
Licence IV Grenache (1L)
Grenache is the undisputed star of Southeast France. From dominating the Red blends of Chateauneuf du Pape to elevating Roses in Provence. This bottling is from foothills of the Alps where the vines are farmed organically and surrounded by forest. The result is pure and energetic, like getting stuck in the rain--for your tastebuds. It’s bottled by the liter too, so you can use that little extra amount of wine to shower in...or, drink?
Malbec is not from Argentina, astronauts never walked the moon, and 2pac is not dead. Okay but seriously, Malbec is actually native to Southwest France and the real masters of the variety are in Cahors, where we find Chateau du Cedre. Some of their wines can age for decades, but the Marcel is ready to enjoy today. It's dark and fruity but with just enough tannin to remind you where it comes from.
Niepoort Rotulo Tinto Dao (only included with the 12-bottle case)
Dirk Niepoort expanding beyond Port production and into the world of dry Portuguese table wines was like the Beatles discovering psychedelics...and the hits just keep coming. Rotulo is made mostly of Touriga Nacional, the main grape in port wine, but fermented dry. The results are sublime: black pepper aromas and beautiful black fruits on the palate. At 12.5% alcohol and with a delicate nerve of mineral and tannin, it's the ultimate pairing with any dish you throw at it.
